Mrs. Earlie V. Gainey, age 78, of Glen St. Mary, FL passed away Thursday, September 30 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Gainey was born in Folkston, GA to the late Kenny Alfred and Emma Earlie Thomas Turner. She resided in Maxville, FL before moving to Baker County, FL almost 50 years ago. Mrs. Gainey enjoyed watching the shows Reba and The Golden Girls, watching football, spending time reading and shopping. She is preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Gainey is survived by her husband, Ray Gainey: sons, David B. Cannon of Maxville, FL, Kyle “Mikey” Cannon (Melissa) of Macclenny, FL: step-son, William Gainey (Tonya) of Macclenny,FL: daughters, Vickie Curtis (Mark) of Lacrosse, FL, Dena Manning (Joey) of Macclenny, FL, Diane Yelton (George) of Gainesville, FL and Rena Gainey of Macclenny, FL: brothers, Tommy Turner (Cheryl) of Sour Lake, TX and Jimmy Turner (Linda) of Middleburg, FL: sister, Hazel Tyson (Johnny) of Hawthorne, FL. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Gainey will be held at 11 A.M., Monday, October 4 in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. (one hour before the service). Interment will follow the funeral service in Macedonia Cemetery.
