Elizabeth Jane Huchingson

Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Huchingson, age 88, of Lake City, Florida died Friday, Aug. 27, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida following an extended illness.  Mrs. Huchingson had resided in Lake City, Florida all of her life and was the daughter of the late Leroy J. and Nancy Reeve Smith. She worked as a bookkeeper with  Delta Farm Center and also with the Columbia County Supervisor of Elections office for over 15 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church and enjoyed her garden, canning vegetables and cooking. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.D. Huchingson, her son-in-law, Charles Wise and her sister, Jo Ann Register. She is survived by three daughters, Cindy Wise of Four Oaks, North Carolina, Nancy (Chuck) Brannaka of Lake City, Florida and Diane (Dennis) Killebrew of White Springs, Florida: Six grandchildren, Richard (Sherri) Wise, Lacrecia (Aaron) Barber, Alan (Belinda) Wise, Kyle Killebrew, Michael (Shelly) Brannaka and Joseph (Maira) Brannaka; 11 great-grandchildren also survive. There will be a private burial of Mrs. Huchingson beside late husband in Mount Carmel Cemetery. The family will announce when a memorial service will be held for Mrs. Huchingson at a later date.
