Eudine Bailey Obituary

Eudine Bailey, 84, passed away May 11, 2023 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, after a valiant fight with cancer. She was the daughter of Bishop and Edith Feagle Witt and lived the majority of her life in Lake City, Columbia County. Both her parents precede her in death. She married her high school sweetheart, Wendell Bailey, on July 4, 1958 and established their homestead south of Lake City. They were married for 60 years before Wendell passed away. There they raised their family and farmed the family property. Eudine love her flowers! When she wasn’t helping Wendell with their crops of tobacco, pecans, cattle, hay, or the famous “U pick” garden, she could be found in one of her many flower beds. She was an expert seamstress. Many babies were welcomed into the community with one of her many handmade afgans. She also made the prettiest quilts which are treasured by anyone who ever received one including the members of her family. She grew up in Bethlehem Lutheran Church where her flowers adorned the altar on Sundays or for any social occasion. She served her church in many positions during her lifetime and was passionate about her service. She also served on the Board of the local ASCS for many years. She was a lifetime honorary member of Columbia High and Ft. White FFA Chapters as well as Columbia County Resources. Along with Wendell and their family, they fed many people of the community through the years with his famous BBQ Pork or Chicken and Rice. She and Wendell loved the Christmas Holiday. They would work tirelessly for months to decorate their entire yard for a bright Christmas Light Display. They enjoyed the fruit of their labor by watching the cars drive through the yard and hearing the children sequel with delight and awe. She is survived by her daughter, Wanda (Randy) Jones; son, Aubrey (Kelly) Bailey; six grandchildren, Bryan (Michelle) Jones; Leanne (Matt) Huesman; David (Casey) Jones; Daniel (Chrystal) Bailey ; Rebecca (Clay) Paulk; and Kimberly Bailey. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren, Jakob (Hailey) Jones; Bailey Jones; Carley Jones; Audrey Jones; Bo Jones; Carter Jones; Emaleigh Bailey; Reese Huesman; Bryar Bailey; and Rylee Huesman. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wendell and great great grandchild, Eason Jones. A funeral service to honor her life will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 10:00 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be a visitation with the family at Guerry Funeral Home on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 6-8 pm. An alternative to flowers would be for donations to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Aldine Feagle, 834 SE Aldine Feagle Dr., Lake City, Florida 32025. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W.
