Mrs. Evelyn Martha Park, age 91, of Lake City, Florida died Saturday, July 10, in the Willow Creek Assisted Living Facility, Lake City, Following a long illness. Mrs. Park was born in Lounsbury, New York and resided in Tampa, Florida before moving to Lake City, Florida 59 years ago. She was an elementary school teacher at Melrose Elementary School her entire teaching career for 26 years and retired in 1995. She was a graduate of Lake City Community College and received her degree in education from the University of Florida in 1969. She was a charter member of the Christian Heritage Church of Lake City, Florida and a member of the Retired Teachers Education Association of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alden Wolcott Park and her parents, Jesse L. and Laura Hoxsie Haner. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine “Laney” (L. Harvard) Burney of Fanning Springs, Florida: two sons, Alan (Marliann) Park of Houston, Texas and Stephen (Trisha) of Jamestown, Tennessee: Nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Park will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, July 17, in the Christian Heritage Church with Rev. Chris Jones, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery, Lake City, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Saturday (One hour before services) at the church.
