Mr. Everette "Lacy" Crews, Jr., age 77, of Baxter, FL went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, June 29th. He passed away at his home, with his family by his side, from complications due to Parkinson’s disease. He was born in Baxter, FL, on July 2nd, 1942, to the late Everette Crews, Sr. and Retha Burnsed Crews. Mr. Crews was a graduate of the Baker County High School, Class of 1960. He served in the United States Air Force for four years and was honorably discharged. Mr. Crews was a Christian and was a member of the Moniac Baptist Church, where he served as Treasurer and Music Director for several years. Mr. Crews resided in Baxter, FL, where he was brought up, since 1967. There he had a poultry and cattle farm. He was a past member of Baker County Farm Bureau and Cattleman’s Association, serving short terms as a Board Member and President. Mr. Crews was also the owner of L/C Trucking Company and Lacy’s Kountry Store in Moniac, GA. He was a loving husband to his wife, Debbie, for 58 years and a loving father and grandfather. Mr. Crews loved working on his farm and raising and riding horses. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Ronnie E. Crews. Mr. Crews is survived by his wife, Deborah Brooks Crews; daughter, Felicia (DuShayne) Raulerson of the Georgia Bend, GA; sons, Everette “Lacy” Crews, III (Sheri) and Rev. Lance M. Crews (Rebecca) both of Lake City, FL: grandchildren, Hampton D. Raulerson (Ashley) of Folkston, GA, Danielle Raulerson- Usaf Okinawa, Kyle Crews, McKenzie Crews, Payton C. Crews, Micah Crews, Addison Crews, and Cason Crews, all of Lake City, FL; brother, Dennis J. Crews (Meloney) of Baxter, FL; sister, Mary E. Rhoades (Don) of Macclenny, FL and sister in law, Norma Lawson Crews of Glen St. Mary also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Crews will be held at 10 A.M., Wednesday, July 1st in the Moniac Baptist Church, Moniac, GA, with his son, Rev. Lance M. Crews, officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M., Tuesday, June 30th in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home. Interment will follow the funeral services in Moniac Cemetery, Moniac, GA.
