Mrs. Gwendolyn "Gwen" Janette Rios, age 72, of Macclenny, Florida died Thursday, Jan. 14, at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Rios was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma and resided in Pompano Beach, Florida before moving to Macclenny, Florida 26 years ago. She was schoolteacher in the Baker County School System for 14 years before her retirement. She was a graduate of North Texas State University with a degree in English Literature. She was an avid reader, loved her children and grandchildren and was an active member of bible study at First Baptist Church, Macclenny, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob C. and Deloris Bales Fillman and son, Dewayne M. Watts. She is survived by her husband, Herman C. Rios of Macclenny, Florida: her children, Andrew C. (Jessica) Rios, Stephen (Amy) J. Rois and David (Kristen) Rios all of Macclenny, Florida, Phillip A. (Kelly) Rios of Jacksonville, Florida and Maria (Russell) Butler of Melrose, Florida: one sister, Pam Boaz of Katy, Texas: one brother, Blake Fillman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: Eight grandchildren also survive. A memorial service to honor the life of Mrs. Rios will be held at 11 am Saturday, Jan. 23, in the First Baptist Church with Rev. David Murphy and Rev. Rusty Stowe officiating. Final disposition will be by cremation, the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am. Saturday (one hour before services) at the church.
