Mr. Henry James Clemons, Jr., age 91, of Lake City, Florida died Monday, Dec. 13, in the WillowBrook Assisted Living Facility, Lake City, Florida following an extended illness. Mr. Clemons was born in Lulu, Florida and resided in Columbia County all of his life. He worked for the Florida Department of Transportation as an engineer for 33 years before his retirement and then worked with the Columbia County Fairgrounds for over 15 years. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing and traveling with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Laverne Clemons and his parents, Henry J. and Bertie Williams Clemons, Sr. He is survived by his daughters, Beverly (Tim) Sanders of Satsuma, Florida and Belinda (Burton) Cochran of Nantahala, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Bridget Floyd and Brandi Oliver; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Floyd, Gavin Floyd and Henry Carroll. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Clemons will be held at 12 P.M. Friday, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Ogburn, Pastor of the Watertown Congregational Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Columbia County, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 11 to 12 P.M. Friday (one hour before services) at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W, Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida.
