Mr. James G. Lane, age 97, of Macclenny, FL passed away Sunday, October 8 at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. James was born in Jacksonville, FL to the late William and Mardie Thrower Lane. He lived in Bryceville, FL before moving to Baker County, FL over 65 years ago. Mr. James was a member of the Brandy Branch Baptist Church and had attended Glen Baptist Church for the last 57 years. He bravely served his country and was a machine gunner for the United States Army during WWII. Mr. James enjoyed ballroom dancing and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruby Lane and seven siblings. Mr. James is survived by: one daughter, Wendy Ruth Lane of Macclenny, FL: two sons, Donald H. Lane (Wendy) of Granbury, TX and Robert K. Lane (Kimbra) of Glen St. Mary, FL: one brother, Marion Lane of Jacksonville, FL. Six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Lane will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, October 12th at Glen Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Woods and Pastor Tim Andrews officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M., Wednesday, October 11th in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home. Interment will follow the funeral services in Brandy Branch Cemetery.
