Mr. James “Jim” Albert Smith, age 75, of Lake City, Florida died Friday, Aug. 14, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida following an extended illness. Mr. Smith was born in Detroit, Michigan and resided in Jacksonville, Florida before moving to Lake City, Florida in 1990. He worked for the Florida Forest Service and the Florida Department of Transportation for over thirty years. He was a member of the First Full Gospel Church and loved gospel music, wrote gospel music and could play just about any musical instrument. He was preceded in death by his father, James Albert Guegenbeul and his mother, Juanita Rhea Smith. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Patricia Smith of Lake City, Florida: three daughters, Neala Marie, Tamara Ann and Donna Marie: two sons, Anthony Joseph and Joseph Anthony: one brother, Paul Beul: ten grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Smith will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the graveside in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Lake City, Florida with Rev. Earl Greene officiating.
