John Robert Mason

Mr. John Robert Mason, age 84, of Lake City, Florida passed away on February 5, 2024. Mr. Mason moved to Lake City from Miami, Florida in 1993 and has lived there ever since. He worked for the Florida Department of Transportation in Miami, Florida for 35 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Philippi Baptist Church of Lake City, Florida as well as a member of the American Legion of Lake City, Florida. Mr. Mason was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shopping at flea markets.

Mr. Mason is survived by his two children, Melanie Alers of Homestead, Florida and William Mason of Lake City, Florida: 3 grandchildren, William Russell Mason, Jr., Brett Michael Alers, Brooke Ashley Alers. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Charlotte Ann Mason.

A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Mason will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 11:00 A.M. in the Farnell Cemetery, Ellisville, Florida and will be officiated by Rev. Richard Rodriquez. Visitation and gathering with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 A.M. at the cemetery. Guerry Funeral Home, Lake City, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
