Ms. Juanita Melanie Sweat, age 85, of Tallahassee, FL passed away Monday, April 24th in the HCA Florida Capital Hospital, Tallahassee, FL following an extended illness. Ms. Sweat was born in Jacksonville, Fl to the late Hardy and Florence Greene Gardener. She lived in Jacksonville, FL until her move to Tallahassee, FL four years ago. Ms. Sweat was a member of Woodstock Park United Methodist Church of Jacksonville, FL and worked in banking for many years. She was employed at the Credit Union of Jacksonville, Barnett Bank and Wells Fargo Bank. Ms. Sweat loved Gator football and spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, and late husband Edward Eugene Sweat. Ms. Sweat is survived by her son, Dana E. Sweat of Tallahassee, FL: former daughter in law and care giver, Karen Blackburn (Jeb) of Tallahassee, FL: one sister, Patricia Nix of Jacksonville, FL: two grandchildren, Ryan Sweat (Madeline Windsor) and Heather Waldron (Adam): two great-grandchildren, Oliver and Kyler Waldron. A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Ms. Sweat will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, April 29th in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Sanderson, FL.
