Leland Jene Singleton, age 56, of Hilliard, Florida passed away on August 16, 2021. He was a devoted and loving husband and Pepa. He was born on November 2, 1964, in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Leland attended Fletcher High School in Neptune Beach, Florida. During this time, he worked various residential projects which led to his 40-year career in commercial construction. He was a Certified General Contractor, and his passion was building complex, high-end developments. He was employed as Vice President of Field Operations by McCall Construction Management. He felt blessed to be able to serve in the industrial, educational, commercial, and retail fields. He worked on projects all over the United States and Mexico. Throughout his extensive career, some of his accomplishments include, directing the demolition and rebuilding at Baptist Medical Center and Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL and Rolls Royce in Crosspoint, VA. He was an active member of the St. George Church of God for 22 years where he served as Sunday School and VBS teacher, usher, media team member, assisted in church building programs, and was a financial supporter of missions. He was committed to Christ and being a witness to others. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate that he is at peace with his Lord and Savior. Leland loved spending time with his family fishing, hunting, camping at the beach and going on vacations. He was an amazing Pepa to his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Wallace and Chuck Singleton, sister, Kendra Newell and two nieces. Leland is survived by his wife of 22 years, Dena Singleton; daughter, Kandace (Daniel) Harvey of Sanderson, Fl; son, Ryan (Lindsey) Mantz of Folkston, Ga; daughter, Casie (Justin) Crumbley of Hilliard, Fl; and seven grandchildren. He also leaves behind his parents, Corky and Linda Cox; sisters, Bonieta Bedsole and Darlene Spiegel along with many nieces and nephews. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Singleton will be held at 2 P.M., Monday, August 23rd in the St. George Church of God with Pastor Grady Albritton and Pastor David Harris, officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 1 to 2 P.M. (one hour before services). Interment will immediately follow the funeral service in Emmaus Cemetery.
