Mrs. Linda Mae Burnsed, age 85, of Glen St. Mary, Florida died Wednesday, May 11, at her home following a long illness. She was born in Folkston, Georgia and lived in Moniac, Georgia before moving to Glen St. Mary, Florida 52 years ago. She worked as a nursing aid with the Northeast Florida State Hospital, Macclenny, Florida for over 30 years and then worked as a cook with the Baker County Council on Aging for a short period of time. She was a member of the Moniac Baptist Church and loved going to blue grass shows with her husband and sister, playing softball and the Atlanta Braves baseball team. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Burnsed, her son, Lonnie Melvin Burnsed and her parents, Robert A. and Cornelia Chesser and a great-granddaughter, Madisyn Lanell Nowlen. She is survived by daughter, Deborah Neal of Glen St. Mary, Florida; two sons, Larry (Gerri) Burnsed and Lawrence (Darlene Herold) both of Glen St. Mary, Florida; one sister, Maggie Patterson of Glen St. Mary, Florida; three brothers, Jack Chesser of Moniac, Georgia, Grant Chesser of Hillard, Florida and James Chesser of St. George, Georgia; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Burnsed will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, May 17, in the Moniac Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Rouse, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Canaday Cemetery, Moniac, Georgia. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, May 16, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida.
