Lorraine Davis

Mrs. Lorraine R. Davis, age 75, of Glen St. Mary, FL passed away Friday, July 16th in the Baptist Medical Center, Jacksonville, FL. Lorraine was born May 9th, 1946 in Jacksonville, Florida to Ernest Richardson and Thelma Ray. She graduated from Ribault High School in 1964, and four days later, married the love of her life, Leonard Davis. Together, they shared sixty years, fifty-seven years of marriage, and raised two children Chris Yarbrough and Chad Davis in the small town of Glen Saint Mary, Florida. Lorraine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandma. Her life's work was spent caring for others, working in the church and running the Church Softball League. Most recently, she even added homeschool teacher to her list of accomplishments. She was passionate about Jesus, gardening, cooking, canning, Gulf fishing, and bird watching. She especially loved hummingbirds. Lorraine had a green thumb and a special meal for every occasion. She loved to love people. Her smile was infectious and her heart knew no limits. Lorraine was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Richardson, mother, Thelma Ray, sisters, Margaret McCormick, and Norma Higginbotham, and son-in-law Jay Yarbrough. She is survived by her husband Leonard Davis, daughter Chris Yarbrough, son Chad Davis (Deborah), grandsons Sawyer and Case Davis, and her brother Alton Richardson along with many other family and friends. The viewing will be held on Monday, July 19th, 2021 at Christian Fellowship Temple in Macclenny, Florida from 6pm-8pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 20th, 2021 at Christian Fellowship Temple in Macclenny, Florida at 10am. Graveside interment to follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery, Sanderson Florida. It was Lorraine's wish that if floral arrangements were given, that live plants be sent in lieu of cut flowers.
