Mrs. Louise Gunter Reeves, age 82, of Macclenny, Florida died Monday, April 12, in the Ortega Gardens Alzheimers Special Care Center, Jacksonville, Florida following a long illness. She was born in Palatka, Florida and resided in Jacksonville, Florida for many years before moving to Macclenny, Florida in 1997. She was co-owner of the Derby House Restaurant, Jacksonville, Florida and was also co-owner of the Five Points News Center and other news locations in Jacksonville and Jacksonville Beach, Florida for over 30 years. She was of the Baptist faith and loved bowling, gambling and collecting Barbie dolls and Beanie Babies items. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus M. and Addie M. Lamb Gunter, her son Gil Ravan, Jr., her daughter, Lori Thomas, and her daughter-in-law, Andrea Ravan and four siblings. She is survived by her husband, Roy E. Reeves of Macclenny, Florida: Two daughters, Julie (Tom) Apromollo of Macclenny, Florida and Jackie Carter of Jacksonville, Florida: one brother, Walter Gunter of Palatka, Florida: son in law, Jeff Thomas: six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and five step-children also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Reeves will be held at 4 P.M. Thursday, April 15, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Chaplain Brent Beaird of Community Hospice officiating. A graveside service will be held at 4 P.M. Saturday, April 17, in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Lacrosse, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 3 to 4 P.M. Thursday (One hour before services) at the funeral home and from 3 to 4 P.M. Saturday at the graveside services. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
