Ms. Margaret Holt, age 92, of Macclenny, FL passed away Saturday, February 29th in the St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospital, Jacksonville, FL, following an extended illness. Ms. Holt was born in Olustee, FL and lived several years in Jacksonville, FL before moving to Baker County, FL in 1975. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Macclenny, FL and enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Ms. Holt also loved to cook and spend time with her family. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Gerald Holt, parents, Richard and Conetta Joiner Cox, two sisters, Helen Cox and Jane “Betty” Ward, and one brother, Gene Cox. Ms. Holt is survived by two sons, Paul Smythe of Macclenny, FL and Richard W. Smythe, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL: one daughter, Jennifer Holt of Macclenny, FL: two brothers, Richard Cox and Bobby Cox both of Deland, FL: one sister, Phyllis Tatham (Ernest) of Jacksonville, FL. Numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services to honor the life of Ms. Holt will be held at 1 P.M., Friday, March 6th in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, Macclenny, FL with Rev. Joe Raulerson, officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 12 to 1 P.M. (one hour before services). Interment will immediately follow the services in Manntown Cemetery, Glen St. Mary, FL.
