Mrs. Marilyn W. Lilly, age 75, of Lake City, Florida passed away peacefully at her residence on February 16, 2021. Marilyn was born March 30, 1945 to Willie Jane Woods and to the late Elisha Woods, Sr. Marilyn accepted Christ at an early age and was an active and loyal member of the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church, serving as a deaconess under the Christian leadership of Pastor I.L. Williams. She was educated in the schools of Jefferson County, Alabama, graduating from Westfield High School Class of 1963. Marilyn retired from J.C. Penny’s with over 30 years of service. She loved to cook and did not mind helping others. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Charles E. Lilly and her son Christopher Terry. Left to cherish loving memories are her children, Valerie Terry of Orlando, Florida and Luther Terry, Jr. of Lake City, Florida: her mother, Willie Jane Woods of Birmingham, Alabama: eight siblings, Jeanette Green, Dorothy Wren and Linda Woods, Edward (Jackie) Woods, Robert (Shirley) Woods, Larry (Ann) Woods, Elisha (Pam) Woods, Jr. and Joe Woods: grandchildren, Christeia (Maurice, Sr.) Jones, Toree Gordon and Luther Lamont: seven great-grandchildren, Denard, Lanard, Maurice Logan, Jr., T’niyah , Ethan, Chase and Ta’leiyha: hosts of nieces, nephews and other relative and friends. A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Lilly will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, Feb. 27, at Philadelphia Memorial Gardens, C.R. 240, Lake City, Florida. with Pastor I.L. Williams officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, Feb. 26, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida. www.guerryfuneralhome.net
