Mrs. Marshanna Laray Henck, age 52, of Lake City, Florida died Monday, May 23, in the UF Health Shands Hospital, Gainesville, Florida following an extended illness. Mrs. Henck had resided in Lake City, Florida all of life and retired after 30 years of service as a correctional officer with the Florida Department of Corrections System. She loved working and help supervise the annual family Hill Reunion in Hamilton County and was a member of the Thin Blue Line shopping club of Folkston, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Cason and Annabelle Burnham. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Walter L. Henck of Lake City, Florida; her son, Walt Henck, Jr. “Little Walt” and his companion, Skyler Dowdy; and her granddaughter, Kinsleigh Dowdy; several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Henck will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, May 28, in the Evergreen Cemetery, Jasper, Florida with Rev. Randy Ogburn, Pastor of the Watertown Congregational Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, May 27, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida.
