Mary Lee Bennett

Mrs. Mary Lee Bennett was born in Macclenny, Florida, on July 25, 1933 and went to be with the Lord on April 24, 2023 in the Terrace Health and Rehab Center of Gainesville.

Mary and Ray, her late husband, lived in Gainesville, Florida, most of their married life of 73 years but she grew up in Macclenny prior.

Mary worked for F.W. Woolsworth for more than 38 years until closing, then six years for Gresham’s Drugs before retiring. Mrs. Bennett loved working in her yard and making it look like a “Show place”, with all of her beautiful flowers.

She also loved going to the beach and, of course, being with her family

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John R. Wright and Ezzie Wilkerson Wright, her husband, Ray H. Bennett, and her siblings, Albert Wright, Thelma Norman, Ella Wright, Emory Wright, and Rosa Lee Rhoden.

She is survived by numerous Nieces and Nephews that love her dearly.

Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Bennett will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 27th, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery, Taylor, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 1 to 2 P.M Thursday (One hour before services) at the funeral home. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S.90 East, Macclenny, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
