Obituary

Mrs. Mary Edna Evans, age 88, of Lake City, Florida passed away on Wednesday, July 20, in the North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville, Florida following a long illness. Mrs. Evans had resided in Lake City all of her life. She worked for Hillendale Farms in Lake City for many years and also did payroll and secretarial work for other companies. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonzo Edward Evans, her parents, Ellery and Mary Bedenbaugh Witt, her daughter, Mary Ann Mobley, her son, Steve Evans, her grandson, Christopher Geiger, three siblings, Bill Witt, Elvin Witt and Mae Green. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Evans of Lake City, Florida; her son, Michael Evans of Lake City, Florida; two sisters, Lucy English of Fort White, Florida and Lillian Brown of High Springs, Florida; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren also survive. A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Evans will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, July 25, in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lake City, Florida with Rev. Jeanie Lott officiating. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
