Melba Raye Tomlinson

Melba Raye Tomlinson passed away Sunday, 8/27/23. She was 88 years of age. Raised in Portsmouth, Virginia, she lived in Lake City, Florida the last 55 years of her life. She is survived by her three children, Sharon Hayes (Dennis), Daryl (Tina), and David, four grandchildren (Haley, Tyler, Lydia, Sage) and six great-grandchildren.

The Heavenly record shows that our Mama was a wonderful person.

She was a wonderful Christian, a wonderful church member, a wonderful Sunday School teacher, a wonderful wife and mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful friend and a wonderful nurse (RN).

Like Jesus, she went about doing good, giving a good portion of her time and treasure to various ministries and foundations. She introduced her family and friends to the old saying, "Preach the Gospel. Use words if necessary." And she was a wonderful preacher.

To celebrate her life and honor her memory, there will be a graveside service at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Friday, September 1, 11:00 AM.
