Rita S Roberts

Mrs. Mareter S. “Rita” Roberts, age 93, of Lake City, Florida died Thursday, May 27, in the Suwanne Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida following a long illness. Mrs. Roberts lived in Lake City all of her life. She worked as a bookkeeper with the State Exchange Bank and Barnett Banks in Lake City for over 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of the First Advent Christian Church.  She was the daughter of the late Peter J. and Mary F. Moore Strozer and the widow of the Joe W. Roberts, Sr. She was also preceded in death by sons, Joe W. Robers, Jr., Charles Ronald Brown and Jimmy Taylor and step-daughter, Marylynn Williams. She is survived by two step-daughters, Marty Waldron of Lake City, Fla. and Carolyn Griffin of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.: one sister, Patsy E. Buckles of Lake City, Fla.: Three grandchildren, Ryan Brown, Brandi Brown and Staci Brown: three great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Bingham, Haylynn Brown and Maci Brown. A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Roberts will be held at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, June 1, in the Memorial Cemetery, Lake City, Florida with Rev. Romey Luke officiating.
