Mr. Roger Westfield Martin, age 72, of Sanderson, Florida died Thursday, Jan. 9, at his home following an extended illness. He was born in East St. Louis, Illinois and lived in Doniphan, Nebraska for 30 years before moving to Sanderson, Florida in 2011. He worked as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office for over ten years. He enjoyed motorcycle runs, hunting, fishing and his dogs. He attended the Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Baker County, Fla. and was a 32nd degree Mason with the Hastings, Nebraska Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Chester and Dorothy Margaret McGowan Martin and one son, Jimmy Martin. He is survived by his wife, Sharon L. Martin of Sanderson, Fla.: Four sons, Dean Schnieders of St. Louis, Mo., William Martin of Macclenny, Fla., Roger M. Martin of Sanderson, Fla. and David Martin of Hastings, Nebraska: one sister, Sharron McKnight of Hastings, Neb.: eight grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. Martin will be sent to the Irvin-Macz Funeral Home, 234 Elm St., Centralia, Illinois 62801 for funeral services and burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Orchidville, Illinois.
