With heavy hearts we share the last of the original "MANNING" brother, Vernon E. Manning, 86, of Manning, FL, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2023 following an extended illness.  Vernon was born on October 28, 1936 to John and Edna Manning in Manning Station, FL. After Vernon graduated from Macclenny-Glen High School in May of 1955, he enlisted in the US ARMY, serving his time in Germany.  Vernon then began his career at the Northeast Florida State Hospital as an aid for 30 dedicated years.  In September of 1992, Vernon retired and spent his time hunting, fishing, farming and reading.  Vernon was predeceased by his brothers James, John, Kenneth, T.L., Ferrell, Robert and Lawrence Manning and sisters Mary Griffis, Inez Tyson and Betty Jean Manning.  He is survived by Michael (Karen) Manning of Manning, FL and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.  Visitation will be Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Guerry Funeral Home in Macclenny, FL for family at 5:00 pm and friends from 6:00-8:00 pm.  Services will be Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Crossroads to Victory Church in Raiford, FL at 11:00 am. With Pastor Neil Griffis officiating.
