Mr. Wesley Arnold Davis, Sr., age 71, of Taylor, FL passed away Friday, March 19th in the Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospital, Jacksonville, FL following an extended illness. Mr. Davis was born in Taylor, FL and was a lifelong resident of Baker County, FL. He was a graduating member of Baker County High School, Class of 1968 and worked as an aircraft weight and balance specialist for the United States Navy for over 28 years until his retirement in 2011. Mr. Davis enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid FSU fan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Sadie Raulerson Davis. Mr. Davis is survived by his loving wife, Martha Jo Davis: one son, Wesley A. Davis, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL: one daughter, Melinda Jo Richard (Jason) of Taylor, FL: one brother, Andy Self of Glen St. Mary, FL: two sisters, Eliza Pringle of Glen St. Mary, FL and Annette Barber (Randy) of Lake City, FL: one grandchild, Sophia Richard and nephew, Thomas Barber (Teresa) of Lake City, FL also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Davis will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, March 27th in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Woods of The Taylor Church, officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. (one hour before services). Interment will follow the funeral service in the Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
