Wilfred Laurence "Bill" MacManus

Mr. Wilfred Laurence “Bill” Macmanus, age 87, of Jacksonville, Florida quietly departed this life Tuesday, June 7, 2022 after an extended illness. Bill graduated from Christian High School in New Hampshire and went on to enlist in the United States Army where he honorably served his country as a paratrooper. He went on to serve as a teacher/coach “Coach Mac” at Marantha Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida for a number of years before becoming self-employed for the last 43 years until age 86. Bill professed his faith in Jesus at an early age and was a long standing member of the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Florida. He enjoyed hunting, camping, deep sea fishing, riding Harleys and was committed to helping others. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Macmanus. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carol Lee Macmanus of Jacksonville, Florida; his son, Tom Macmanus of Jacksonville, Florida; four step-children, James (Tina) Lee of Tifton, Georgia, Debbie (Ronnie) Kelly and Mikie (Ruth) Lee both of Macclenny, Florida and Donnie (Jennifer) Lee of Maxville, Florida; one brother, Gary (Jane) Macmanus of Fort White, Florida; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive. A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Macmanus will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, June 14, in the Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida with Mr. Larry Price and his grandson, Adam Macmanus, officiating.
