Mr. William Colonel Cobb, Jr., age 75, of Lake City, Florida died Saturday, Feb. 27, in the Shands University of Florida Medical Center, Gainesville, Florida following an extended illness. Mr. Cobb was born in Lake City, Florida and resided in Olustee, Florida and Tallahassee and Chipley, Florida before moving back to Lake City 19 years ago. He worked and retired from the Florida Department of Transportation. For many years he pastored for the Church of God, which included the Lake City Church of God, the Chipley Church of God, Chipley, Florida and the Wellborn Church of God, Wellborn, Florida and other positions with the Church of God ministry. He was a graduate of Baker County High School, Macclenny, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Colonel Cobb, Sr. and Elsie Mae Chason Cobb, one sister, Pauline C. Bush and two brothers, Daniel Cobb and H. Wilton Cobb. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sandra Dell Cobb of Lake City, Florida: his daughter, Amanda Register of Ocala, Florida: his son, Kevin (Kelly) Cobb of Lake City, Florida: two adopted sons, Tim Cobb and Bill Pringle, Jr. both of Jacksonville, Florida: one sister, Margaret St. John Henry of Olustee, Florida: sister-in-law, Kathy Cobb of Olustee, Florida: Seven grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Cobb will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, March 3, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Osborn, pastor of the Wellborn Church of God and Rev. Tim Staier, Pastor of the Elevate Life Church, Orange Park, Florida, officiating. Interment will be in Olustee Cemetery, Olustee, Florida.
