Mr. William “Cal” Davis, age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 29th in the Parrish Medical Center, Titusville, FL after succumbing to lung cancer. Mr. Davis was born in Daytona Beach, FL and lived in Baker County, FL for over 30 years before moving to Titusville, FL in 2015. Mr. Davis was a member of Pine Level Church and loved his family. Cal was known for many remarkable accomplishments. He was an educator, businessman, and entrepreneur. Cal had a kind heart and a compassionate attitude towards life. He loved nature, fishing, cooking, and Fargo, GA. Mr. Davis is preceded in death by his parents, John A. Davis, Sr. and Elsie R. Davis, sister, Louise Moore, brother, John A. Davis, Jr., and son, Matthew Scott Davis. Cal is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce L. Davis: one son, Mark Davis (Cynthia) of Monterey, TN: one daughter, Laurie Combs (Don) of Sanderson, FL: four granddaughters, Shayla Harshman (Bryant), Leslie Amerson (Kevin), Cyann Peterson (Drew), and McKenzie Davis: one grandson, Dylan Scott Davis: two great granddaughters, Kelsey Warner and Kendall Bowser: one great grandson, Austin Winkler: three sisters, Norma Jean Younghans, Judy Miller and Elizabeth Shepherd. Five sister-in-law’s, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Davis will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, Dec. 6th in the Pine Level Church, Baxter, FL with Pastor Fred Raulerson officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday, Dec. 5 at Guerry Funeral Home, US 90 E., Macclenny, FL. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service in Macedonia Cemetery. Guerry Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
