Mr. William Tomlinson Hunt, III, age 77, of Lake City, Florida died Saturday, May 22, at his home following a long illness. Mr. Hunt was born in Hobbs, New Mexico and had resided in Lake City, Florida since 1994. He worked as an administrative educator with the Florida Department of Corrections in Lake Butler and Jasper, Florida for over 15 years. He was a former ordained minister and was a volunteer of over 500 hours as a chaplain with Haven Hospice in Lake City, Florida. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alaska with a dual major in English and Russian, then a Masters degree in Education Leadership from University of Florida. He loved writing and taught first year writing and English literature at Florida Gateway College as an adjunct teacher. He was preceded in death by his parents, William T. and Grace E. Witherell Hunt, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary A. Hunt of Lake City, Florida: His children, Monica Falbo and Emily Meyer both of Ocala, Florida; Brian Hunt and Daniel Hunt both of Jacksonville, Florida; Joanna Boyer of Houston, Texas and Margaret LaSalle of Sarasota, Florida: Eight brothers and sisters, 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive. A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Hunt will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, May 26, in the Huntsville Community Church Cemetery, Lake Jeffery Road, Lake City, Florida with Chaplain Tom Tyer of Community Hospice and Pastor of the church officiating.
