William "Bill" L Porter

Mr. William Leslie “Bill” Porter, age 80, of Trenton, Florida passed away on Thursday, June 22, in the Terrace Healthcare & Rehab Center, Gainesville, Florida following an extended illness. Mr. Porter was born in the Ellisville community of Columbia County, Florida and worked as a barber with Red’s Barber Shop, Lake City, Florida for many years and then moved to Trenton, Florida 17 years ago and opened his own barber shop until his retirement. Mr. Porter was preceded in death by his parents, Leon H. and Margurite A. Bailey Porter. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lillian Green Porter of Trenton, Florida; two sons, Rory Porter of Hilliard, Florida and Clay (Debby) Carroll of Lulu, Florida; one sister, Elizabeth Horne of Lake City, Florida; One brother, Russell Porter of Dunnellon, Florida; Three grandchild and three great-grandchildren also survive. A Graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Porter will be held at 1 P.M. Monday, June 26, in the Corinth Cemetery, Columbia County, Florida. Guerry Funeral Home, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florid is in charge of arrangements.
