Mrs. Zella Mae Hudson, age 81, of Lake City, Florida passed away Thursday, March 10, at her home surrounded by her family after an extended illness. Mrs. Hudson was born in Davin, West Virginia and resided in LaBelle, Florida before moving to Lake City, Florida 16 years ago. She was a homemaker and member of the Evangel Church of God, Lake City, Florida. She worked many years with her husband in the ministry of church life. She was a strong Bible teacher in church and was a women’ s ministry leader and bookkeeper for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter W. and Verlie Smith Montgomery. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Vep L. Hudson of Lake City, Florida; two daughters, Rebecca (Steve) Kleinhenze of Houston, Texas and Tricia (Dan) Sandoval of Williamsburg, Virginia; one son, Philip (Angela) Hudson of Crystal River, Florida; two sisters, Alice Brown of Palm Coast, Florida and Suzie Ackerson of Palm Bay, Florida; one brother, Joe Montgomery of Davin, West Virginia; Six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. A memorial service to honor the life of Mrs. Hudson will be held at 6 P.M. Sunday, March 13, in the Evangel Church of God with Rev. Rick Holmes, Pastor, officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 5 to 6 P. M. (one hour before services) at the church. There will be a private burial for Mrs. Hudson in Fort White Cemetery, Fort White, Florida. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
