Mrs. Hazel Emerleen Sweet, age 73, of O’Brien, died Saturday, Nov. 11, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida following a long illness. She was born in Austell, Georgia and lived in Lake City, Florida before moving to O’Brien, Florida 11 years ago. She worked as a cashier with Howard Johnson Restaurant and S&S Food Store for many years. She attended the First Baptist Church, O’Brien, Florida and enjoyed playing bingo, fishing and camping. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard L. Sweet and her parents, Fester and Pauline McKinney Daugherty. She is survived by three daughters, Brenda (Joseph) Matthews of O’Brien, Florida, Donna (Johnny) Everhart of Fort White, Florida and Paula (Jerry) Schuck of Lake City, Florida: Three sons, Randy (Vicki) Sweet, Timmy (Lisa) Sweet and Tony (Linda) Sweet all of Lake City, Florida: Three brothers, Jack Daugherty, Don Daugherty and Danny Daugherty all of Lake City, Florida: 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Sweet will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, Nov. 20, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Jones, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, O’Brien, Florida, officiating. Final disposition will be by cremation. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M.
