Mrs. Claudia June Altman Starling, age 57, of Glen St. Mary, Florida passed away Monday, August 15 in the Acosta Rua Center for Caring, Jacksonville, Florida after a long illness. Mrs. Starling was a lifelong resident of Baker County, Florida and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Mt. Zion New Congregational Methodist Church, Macclenny, Florida. She is preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Arthur Altman and her brother in law, Larry Turk. Mrs. Starling is survived by her husband, Donnie Starling: one son, Shannon (Ashley) Altman of Macclenny, FL: one daughter, Andrea (Robert) Griffin of Glen St. Mary, FL: two step sons, John Marcus (Stephanie) Starling and Max (Kelsey) Starling both of Macclenny, FL: her father, James E. (Nina) Davis of Glen St. Mary, FL: her mother, Peggy (David) Rewis of Macclenny, FL: mother in law, Geraldine Altman of Macclenny, FL: one brother, James E. (Tommie Sue) Davis, Jr. of Glen St. Mary, FL: two sisters, Teresa Turk and Eileen (Neal) Stavely both of Glen St. Mary, FL: eight grandchildren, Caleb Griffin, Emily Griffin, Connor Altman, Colson Altman, Kenadee Altman, Kara Starling, Kaylee Hurst, and Gunner Starling. Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Starling will be held on Wednesday, August 17 at 11 A.M. in the Mt. Zion New Congregational Methodist Church, Macclenny, FL, with Rev. Bobby Griffin officiating and assisted by Rev. Tim Cheshire. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M., Tuesday, August 16, in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home. Interment will be in Manntown Cemetery, Macclenny, FL.
