Jannie Christine McCormick

Mrs. Jannie Christine McCormick, age 87, of Sanderson, Florida died Friday, June 30, in the Frank Wells Nursing Home, Macclenny, Florida following a long illness. She was born in Waycross, Georgia and lived in the Sanderson and Glen St. Mary, Florida area most of her life. She was a homemaker and member of the Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church of Sanderson, Florida. She enjoyed sewing, her flowers, and made some of the best eating biscuits in the county. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jonah Aubrey McCormick, her son, John McCormick and her parents, James B. and Susie Aspenwall Davis. She is survived by her three daughters, Theresa (Willie) Simmons, Mary McCormick and Amanda McCormick all of Glen St. Mary, Florida: Her two sons, Jonah McCormick of Bellview, Florida and Hyram (Rhonda) McCormick of Glen St. Mary, Florida: Three sisters, Lillian Coleman of Orange Park, Florida, Louise Norman of Hampton Lake, Florida and Darcelle Murray of Jacksonville, Florida: Two brothers, Colon Davis of Hampton Lake, Florida and Bud Davis of Glen St. Mary, Florida: Two sisters-in-law, Murial Roberts of Lake City, Florida and Laverne Altman of Cuyler, Florida: Six grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. McCormick will be conducted at 11 A.M. Monday, July 3, in the Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Randy Strickland, Pastor of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church, officiating and assisted by Elder David Crawford and Pastor Clayton McCormick. Interment will be in Swift Creek Cemetery, Union County, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 5 to 8 P.M.
